Rocas y arte de Atacama abre sus puertas al público en el mes regional

En el mes de la celebración de la Región de Atacama, esta muestra se abre a todo público invitando a ver y aprender sobre el arte de las rocas que sin duda son mucho más que minerales

En el Museo Regional de Atacama se desarrollará hasta este viernes la muestra Rocas y Arte, propuesta donde es posible conocer el rico arte de minerales que son parte de la naturaleza de la zona.

Guillermo Cortés, Director del Museo Regional de Atacama invita a esta actividad señalando que “esta es una actividad, que se enmarca en el mes de celebración de la Región de Atacama que como sabemos es el mes de octubre, acá podemos encontrar tanto a don Manuel como a la profesora Eliana, ambos profesionales y que invitan a conocer el rico mundo de las rocas y de la minería en Atacama y también como con otros tipos de rocas se puede hacer arte.

Destacar que en esta muestra de minerales no solamente encontramos elementos de la región de Atacama sino que también de todo el mundo pero esto viene a retratar de alguna forma la riqueza y la identidad de la región.

“Un signo evidentemente minero donde encontramos desde cobre nativo, pasando por cuarzo, oro y otras piedras como las atacamitas, esta piedra verde tan bonita y cómo nosotros los atacameños y atacameñas debemos conocer porque es parte de nuestra identidad. Está la rosa del desierto, puesto que si bien no es un mineral, identifica a la región. La piritas, en fin el conjunto de rocas. Hay una que es el cobre nativo rojo, entre otras. Los niños, estudiantes, el público en general pueden ser parte de esto: arte de la región de Atacama, orgánico y ecológico, entonces representa un poco lo que hacen los profesores y de alguna manera son dos identidades para Atacama, lo que nos permite ir mostrando lo que somos. Atacama es más que piedras, Atacama es rocas y es minería” enfatiza el historiador y director del Museo Regional de Atacama.
