Magistrado Carroza es ratificado como nuevo integrante de la Corte Suprema
*La Sala del Senado se pronunció de manera favorable tras el informe presentado por la Comisión de Constitución.
El juez Mario Carroza se convirtió en el nuevo integrante de la Corte Suprema, luego que la Sala del Senado ratificara por 35 votos a favor, 4 en contra y 2 abstenciones, la propuesta de nombramiento realizada por el Ejecutivo, luego de producida la vacante del ministro Lamberto Cisternas, quien se acogió a jubilación en marzo de este año.
En la oportunidad, el senador Alfonso De Urresti, en su calidad de presidente de la Comisión de Constitución entregó el informe respectivo sobre el nombramiento y, en su intervención, destacó la trayectoria del ministro Carroza, así como su labor durante años en su judicatura.
Los parlamentarios coincidieron en valorar la trayectoria profesional de 43 años y los cargos que ha desempeñado tanto en la justicia civil como penal.
Asimismo hicieron alusión a su rol como juez en causas de Derechos Humanos por hechos acontecidos entre 1973 y 1990, así como la labor que desempeñó en la investigación del asesinato del senador Jaime Guzmán.
