John O’Brien González, es el nuevo Director de Obras Portuarias del MOP Atacama
John O’Brien González, es el nuevo Director de Obras Portuarias y el último integrante que se suma al destacado grupo de profesionales que conforman el equipo directivo del MOP Atacama. La noticia la entregó, el Seremi de la cartera Mauricio Guaita Juantok, destacando “hemos logrado reunir a selecto grupo de profesionales, con una vasta experiencia en cada una de sus áreas, con quienes trabajaremos en conjunto para sacar adelante nuestra región. En el caso de John, estoy seguro que será un tremendo aporte para nuestra institución, potenciando la DOP para que siga contribuyendo al desarrollo socioeconómico y productivo de Atacama, en especial de los habitantes y trabajadores de zonas costeras, mediante la construcción de infraestructura costera y portuaria y siguiendo con el Programa de Gobierno de nuestro Presidente Gabriel Boric”.
John O’Brien González es Ingeniero Civil Industrial de la Universidad de Atacama, con un Magister en Alta Dirección Pública y un Magister en Administración de Empresas (MBA Executive). Cuenta con una trayectoria profesional en el servicio público de 18 años, iniciando su carrera funcionaria en el año 2004 en la Dirección de Aeropuertos del MOP Atacama como Profesional de Apoyo, Inspector Fiscal de Explotación del Aeropuerto Desierto de Atacama y Director Regional (s).
En el año 2011, a través de concurso público, asume el cargo de Director Regional de Obras Portuarias para liderar los proyectos de Bordes Costeros y Caletas Pesqueras de la Región. Y posteriormente a partir del 2014 asume otros desafíos profesionales en la Seremi de Minería Atacama como Ingeniero de Proyectos hasta el 31 de agosto, para volver a asumir el 01 septiembre 2022, el cargo de Director Regional de Obras Portuarias del MOP Atacama.
Al asumir el cargo, el nuevo Director, señaló, “es un gran orgullo y me siento feliz de volver a formar parte del equipo del Ministerio de Obras Públicas, lugar donde me inicie profesionalmente, y ahora para liderar nuevamente la Dirección de Obras Portuarias (DOP), con el gran desafío de potenciar las caletas pesqueras de la región en pos del desarrollo productivo pesquero, y por otro lado, potenciar los bordes costeros en la región para ampliar lugares de esparcimiento mejorando de esta manera la calidad de vida de los habitantes de nuestra querida Región”.
