Instalan mesa regional de Derechos Humanos para atender a los pueblos originarios
La Secretaria Regional Ministerial (Seremi) de Justicia y Derechos Humanos, Margarita Contreras, encabezó la mesa regional de Derechos Humanos para discutir el documento “Seguridad y Soberanía Alimentaria”, elaborado por la Organización de Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y Agricultura para recoger las necesidades de los pueblos originarios en diversas materias y particularmente en las referidas al acceso a la justicia.
En el encuentro participaron comunidades indígenas Diaguitas y Collas de Atacama, así como la seremi de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio, María Cecilia Simunovic y la directora regional de La Junta Nacional de Auxilio Escolar y Becas (Junaeb), Claudia Alvayai.
También estuvieron el director del Museo Regional de Atacama, Guillermo Cortés; los académicos Rodrigo Zalaquet y Juan Gastón Cordech, de la Universidad Católica de Chile, y José Emilio Guerrero, Universidad de Córdoba, España y representantes de pueblos originarios de Latinoamerica.
La seremi de Justicia añadió que esta iniciativa apunta a realizar un trabajo mancomunado para la promoción y protección de los derechos humanos, resguardando el respeto de sus tradiciones, espiritualidad y cosmovisión.
