Fuerte contracción de exportación de carne chilena

La Oficina de Estudios y Políticas Agrarias (Odepa) entregó su boletín con las cifras chilenas de importación y exportación de carne entre enero y octubre del 2021.

Con respecto al comercio exterior, las importaciones de este producto aumentó un 35,6% al comparar el mismo periodo del 2020, llegando a un total de 240.330 toneladas. En su desglose, la carne de cerdo y ave registraron alzas de 68% y 45% respectivamente, lo que se traduce en un total de 121.472 y 125.134 toneladas.

El volumen de carne bovina que fue exportada suma un total de 14.260 toneladas, lo anterior significó una contracción del 30,5% al analizar lo ocurrido entre enero y octubre del 2020. Una reducción igual a 6.260 toneladas.

En el escenario internacional, se identificó una disminución en el movimiento hacia China, lo que el órgano estatal explicó se debe a que los embarques no llegarán a tiempo para el año nuevo chino, lo que derivó en que los importadores dejasen de comprar este tipo de producto chileno. En el periodo analizado, Chile envió 12.359 toneladas al gigante asiático, lo que implica una reducción de 5.739 toneladas -o un 31,7% menos- en relación al 2020.

Respecto de Europa, Odepa explicó que aún existe incertidumbre en los mercados europeos como consecuencia de la pandemia del covid-19, en especial atención a la manera en que los países de aquel continente están enfrentando la denominada cuarta ola de contagios, lo que genera una disminución en las compras y su correlativa baja en los precios.

Otro escenario que podría cambiar según lo indicado por la Oficina de Estudios y Políticas Agrarias, son los negocios con Australia, esto en cuanto las últimas proyecciones del Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) señalan que dicho país, producto de las buenas perspectivas de producción de forraje, podría el 2022 recomponer su masa ganadera, la que disminuyó producto de la sequía vivida en el continente oceánico.

Finalmente, atendiendo la situación referida a Estados Unidos, en aquel país la carne de vacuno se mantiene al alza con sus precios, esto como respuesta a la escasez de suministros y los retrasos comerciales que han experimentado. En este escenario, Chile envió 190 toneladas en 2021, un 120,3% más que en 2020.
