Expertos critican permiso del 18 para reuniones familiares en cuarentena: Paris «medita» medida
Como “arriesgado”, “inconsistente” y “un error que puede poner en riesgo el control de la pandemia” fue calificado por especialistas el anuncio del Gobierno que abre la puerta a reuniones familiares durante Fiestas Patrias, incluso en comunas con cuarentena.
En buenas cuentas, la medida permitirá que en cada hogar se pueda recibir -entre el viernes 18 y domingo 20 de septiembre- a cinco personas y en lugares abiertos hasta 10 invitados, para lo que se deberá solicitar un permiso en la página de Comisaría Virtual de Carabineros, sin importar la fase del plan Paso a Paso vigente.
Y aunque el ministro de Salud, Enrique Paris, defendió este jueves el anuncio, al asegurar que “fue muy meditado” y “muy conversado”, varios expertos salieron rápidamente a cuestionar la idea por las consecuencias fatales que podría traer aparejada, considerando que varios focos de contagios se dieron justamente en reuniones familiares.
Sin ir más lejos, la primera víctima que murió por el virus en Chile se contagió durante una actividad de estas características.
“En Chile aún nos encontramos en fase de transmisión comunitaria, con un alto riesgo (de contagiarnos) cuando salimos del hogar, cuando hacemos un traslado o nos juntamos con alguien”, dice María Paz Bertoglia, académica de la Escuela de Salud Pública de la Universidad de Chile y presidenta de la Sociedad Chilena de Epidemiología (Sochepi).
“Es por eso que hemos visto con gran preocupación que por parte de las autoridades han decidido suspender la cuarentena (de manera estricta). Las autoridades deben avanzar en este momento en robustecer toda la estrategia para minimizar los impactos sanitarios”, agrega.
“Suspender las cuarentenas cuando existe transmisión comunitaria -finaliza- consideramos que es un error que puede poner en riesgo el control de la pandemia en nuestro país”.
Por su parte el doctor en Salud Pública y académico de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Usach, Christian García, asegura que la relajación de las restricciones anunciada por el Gobierno “va en dirección contraria a cualquier lógica epidemiologica”.
Al igual que Bertoglia, el especialista afirma que “aún Chile sigue con muchos casos”, lo que lamentablemente va de la mano con una “trazabilidad paupérrima” que recién se comenzó a implementar en julio, de manera “muy tarde y peligrosa”.
“La recomendación para las personas -agrega- es que sigan todo igual (…) Este 18 es un momento de reflexión y de llorar nuestros muertos, más de 15 mil fallecidos”, sentenció.

Según explica Geraldine Vives, experta en salud pública y directora de la Escuela de Odontología de la Universidad Diego Portales, la medida del Minsal “es un riesgo en el que se endosa absolutamente la responsabilidad a las personas de manera individual” y que por lo demás “no va a ser viable de fiscalizar”.
“La consecuencia de aquello -señala- finalmente es un mayor número de muertes. Si se contagian 200 personas pueden morir entre uno y seis (pacientes) de acuerdo a los indicadores actuales que conocemos del virus”.
