ENAMI impulsa reactivación de ‘La Productora’ uno de los yacimientos más grandes de Vallenar

Buscando generar nueva riqueza minera en la comuna de Vallenar, la Empresa Nacional de Minería (ENAMI) se encuentra apoyando las labores de reactivación de la mina de cobre “La Productora”. El proyecto busca impactar positivamente en el fomento de productores mineros de la zona, así como en el abastecimiento de mineral de la Planta Vallenar de la estatal. Una iniciativa que se concreta gracias a un acuerdo alcanzado entre ENAMI y la compañía minera Hot Chili, propietaria mayoritaria de las pertenencias.   

Este fue el resultado, de las negociaciones que se materializaron en la concesión de los derechos de explotación de la faena. A su vez, de acuerdo con lo dispuesto con la compañía australiana, las pertenencias fueron subarrendadas a productores mineros locales; quienes serán los encargados de poner en marcha uno de los yacimientos más grandes de la zona.   

Felipe Carrasco, gerente de Fomento y Minería de ENAMI, visitó La Productora para conocer los avances en materia de seguridad, previos a la obtención de los permisos correspondientes ante Sernageomin, para iniciar posteriormente las labores productivas. Tras el recorrido, destacó el papel que jugará la faena para la zona y para ENAMI.   

Al respecto señaló que “la producción que se genere en esta faena va a tener un impacto sumamente importante en ENAMI, ya que, gracias a un trabajo de sondajes previos, nos va a permitir ir a buscar el mineral sin mayores riesgos; lo que va a repercutir en el abastecimiento de mineral de la Planta Vallenar y en la labor que ENAMI realiza desde el punto de vista operacional. Y aún más importante, es el aporte que harán los productores, ya que son ellos quienes van a crear la riqueza, la llevarán a la planta y a la economía local de Vallenar y la provincia”, indicó el ejecutivo de ENAMI.  

APOYO DE ENAMI

Para concretar esta producción, la estatal ha entregado asistencia técnica total para el desarrollo del proyecto minero, con el análisis de topógrafos, ingenieros que han aportado en la elaboración del proyecto de explotación, el estudio de los sondajes realizados por Hot Chili y la supervisión de trabajos para la obtención de las certificaciones necesarias para la puesta en marcha.  

 Lucas Godoy, uno de los productores mineros que explotarán la mina, comentó que ésta es una faena importante para la zona por su tamaño y proyección de producción. De acuerdo con sondajes realizados por la minera australiana, y a los análisis realizados por ENAMI, se proyecta un peak de producción de 13.500 toneladas de mineral con las que se abastecerá al plantel vallenarino. Asimismo, para la operación se estima una contratación de mano de obra cercana a las 40 personas. 

 Finalmente, sobre el apoyo que ENAMI ha entregado para concretar el proyecto, el productor minero enfatizó en que “yo especialmente soy un agradecido, porque empecé con ENAMI hace muchos años y estar en este nivel de producción y no en una minería artesanal, sino mecanizada, es muy importante”.
