Diputada Sofía Cid expresó su preocupación por las cifras del desempleo en Atacama

La diputada de Atacama, expresó su preocupación por las cifras de desempleo en la región que presentó el Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas de Chile (INE) el pasado lunes, las cuales reflejan una tasa de desocupación de un 11,1% durante el trimestre móvil febrero-abril de 2021. La cifra implicó un incremento de 0.6 puntos porcentuales en doce meses.

“Es preocupante la tasa de desocupación regional de un 11%, pero también se debe considerar que está aumentando la fuerza laboral, esto quiere decir que hay más gente dispuesta a trabajar y buscando trabajo, por lo que es importante generar más puestos de trabajo para recuperar la economía de nuestra región”, destacó.

Por otro lado, la parlamentaria mencionó que “tenemos que considerar que en la región se está hablando de inversión privada en términos de la minería, por lo que existen muchas expectativas en relación al precio del cobre; lo que sí es fundamental es estar atentos a esta situación porque un 11% es una tasa muy alta y eso está afectando significativamente la economía de las familias atacameñas”.

La legisladora recalcó que se debe hacer un llamado a las empresas que van a generar inversiones en Atacama para que contraten mano de obra local. “Es importante que sean personas de la región y no otras que vienen de distintas regiones del país, en eso tenemos que estar muy claros, porque nuestra gente la está pasando muy mal y es justo que sea los atacameños los primeros en la lista para trabajar por la región”.

Cid Versalovic, agregó que “hace unos días se realizó un convenio con la Cámara de la Construcción Chilena para contratar a más mujeres en las obras que se estarán ejecutando, por lo que muchas empresas deberían seguir este ejemplo, ya que las cifras de las mujeres en este periodo aumentó un 1.5% y recordemos que en la gran mayoría de las familias atacameñas son las mujeres las que llevan el sustento a sus hogares”.

Por esta razón, la diputada, recalcó que se están estableciendo medidas y subsidios desde el gobierno para apoyar a las mujeres que se encuentran desempleadas. “Es fundamental que las empresas utilicen estos subsidios que van en ayuda a cientos de mujeres que se encuentran sin empleo, tenemos que seguir sumando esfuerzos para salir adelante y que nuestra gente pueda superar esta crisis sanitaria y económica por la que atravesamos en Atacama”, terminó.
