Con bloqueos de carretera en Caldera exigen aumento de cuota de pesca de jurel

En estado de alerta y plenamente movilizados se encuentran los gremios de pescadores de Caldera, en demanda de ser escuchados por el Gobierno, al que le solicitan aumento en la cuota de pesca del recurso jurel.

Es así que tal agitación ha llegado a que se tomen las vías de acceso a la comuna, situación que ha alterado la normal circulación vehicular.

José Miguel Aguirre, presidente del Sindicato de Patrones, Cerqueros y Armadores, al respecto dijo que “lo único que le solicitamos al Gobierno es que nos asigne una cuota digna; fueron 5 mil 888 toneladas que nos asignaron a comienzo de año, que la capturamos durante 5 días. Eso fue todo lo que trabajamos. Ahora se nos asignó una cuota de improviso de 2.888 toneladas, en el cual pudimos solamente trabajar en el mes de julio, días 28 y 29. No es posible que las autoridades hagan trabajar 7 días al año a los pescadores artesanales en la comuna de Caldera”.

Recalcó “necesitamos trabajar; no queremos bonos, cajas familiares, nada con respecto al Gobierno; solamente desarrollar nuestra actividad como corresponde”.

Además llamó a las autoridades del sector economía y del Gobierno Regional, a conocer y asumir el problema que afecta al gremio de trabajadores del mar calderinos, agregando que ha habido contactos con personeros ministeriales, y que finalmente no han llegado a respuestas positivas y concretas para las demandas que presentan.

“Llevamos dos días, podemos estar el mes (paralizados) si las autoridades quieren, pero ellos verán cómo nos solucionan nuestra problemática. Hay muchas familias de Caldera que están siendo afectadas por esta situación; no solamente nosotros. Vamos a seguir paralizados, no se hasta cuándo. Solamente queremos que se nos asigne una cuota digna”, acotó finalmente el representante de los trabajadores.

En tanto que la Alcaldesa, Brunilda González Anjel, se constituyó en la paralización, señalando “en nombre del Concejo Municipal y de toda la comuna de Caldera estamos acá brindándole el respaldo a la demanda histórica de la pesca artesanal. Esto es producto de la Ley Longueira, que ha sido generada de manera subterfugia. Sabemos que es una Ley que no representa los intereses de la clase trabajadora de la pesca artesanal, de hombres y mujeres a lo largo del territorio nacional. Es una ley que favorece al sector pesquero industrial, al extractivismo y no a la sustentabilidad que da la pesca artesanal en el país”.

Planteó además la edil “estamos acá no solamente brindándoles el respaldo al sector de la pesca artesanal, sino que también estamos haciendo una demanda exigible al Gobierno de la región de Atacama. El diálogo tiene que primar, tiene que ser primordial, pero debe haber soluciones”.
