Calama suena como sede para el partido de Chile contra Uruguay
Se acerca la recta final de las Clasificatorias Qatar 2022 y una de las dudas de cara al último duelo contra Uruguay es la sede que Chile utilizará para hacer de local. El 27 de enero se jugó por primera vez en Calama un duelo clasificatorio en el que “La Roja” cayó por 1-0 ante Argentina.
El técnico de la selección Martín Lasarte, reiteró en varias ocasiones que jugar con Argentina en Calama era para adaptarse al partido contra Bolivia en La Paz. Sin embargo, esa decisión de ser local en la altura se podría repetir llevar a Uruguay al estadio Zorros del Desierto.
El presidente de la ANFP Pablo Milad, señaló hace unos días que «después de cada encuentro nos reunimos con el cuerpo técnico, analizamos la logística y variables y tomamos la decisión».
Un factor para considerar es que a “La Celeste” no le ha ido bien en la altura. Desde la ANFP y el cuerpo técnico de Chile evalúan la posibilidad de volver a Calama. En los últimos partidos de Uruguay en la altura, le toco sufrir. Contra Ecuador a los 60 minutos ya caía 3-0 y finalmente perdió 4-2. Además, lo pasó mal en La Paz, en donde fue vencido por 3-0 y al descanso ya estaba 2-0 abajo.
En los últimos tres procesos clasificatorios, los uruguayos cayeron dos veces ante Bolivia y ganaron en una ocasión. Fue un 4-1 en contra para Brasil 2014 y un 2-0 a favor para Rusia 2018. Contra Ecuador, en los últimos tres encuentros en las rutas para ir a los mundiales, Uruguay cayó en todos en Quito por 1-0, 2-1 y 4-2.
Hace algunos días, Jorge Aravena, histórico seleccionado chileno dio su opinión sobre el tema y cree que jugar el Calama puede ser favorable.
«Jugar en la altura claramente sería condicionante para Uruguay. Si jugamos como lo hicimos en La Paz sería muy beneficioso. En el Hernando Siles se mantuvo la posesión, se presionó cuando se debía, se retrocedió bien y se atacó a la perfección. Ahora si es como jugamos con Argentina, no tendría sentido».
Rodrigo Díaz, periodista uruguayo de radio 89.3 FM señalo que “la altura complica demasiado a Uruguay, la altura y la temperatura. Es una apuesta más interesante que ir a Santiago. Como estrategia para intentar complicar, es positivo para los intereses de Chile. Siempre nos ha costado bastante en la altura, eso obligaría también a la adaptación y a un planteamiento totalmente diferente».
El partido entre Chile y Uruguay se jugará el 29 de marzo por la última fecha de las Clasificatorias, con estadio aún por confirmar, pero varios factores indican que se jugará fuera de Santiago.
