Bélgica evacuó este sábado a 170 personas desde Afganistán a bordo de dos aviones militares de transporte que aterrizaron en Islamabad, capital de Pakistán.

Un primer avión C-130H Hércules del Ejército belga pudo evacuar en primer lugar a más de 80 personas, entre ellas belgas y holandeses, según indicaron las ministras belgas de Exteriores, Sophie Wilmès, y de Defensa, Ludivine Dedonder, a través de sus redes sociales.

Posteriormente, informaron que una segunda aeronave había aterrizado en la capital pakistaní y que el balance total era de unas 170 personas rescatadas.

Bélgica mantiene dos aviones Hércules haciendo rotaciones en la operación para evacuar a cientos de personas de Kabul, y pronto se le añadiría un tercero.

El pasado viernes, un primer avión adquirido por el Gobierno federal belga sólo consiguió evacuar a 16 personas, mientras que un segundo vuelo tuvo que salir vacío.
