Adultos mayores de 75 años o más podrán salir a caminar una hora

Cerca de un millón de personas podrán salir de casa luego de estar en cuarentena obligatoria en todo el territorio nacional desde el 15 de mayo.

A partir de este sábado 25 de julio, a las 5:00 de la mañana, los adultos mayores de 75 años o más puedan salir a caminar una hora en todo el país, según anunció este miércoles el subsecretario de Redes Asistenciales, Arturo Zúñiga, después de la reunión del comité de emergencia de esta jornada, y atención a las cifras de “mejoría” que ha dado cuenta el Ministerio de Salud (Minsal) en las últimas semanas.

Sin embargo, esta medida no será igual para todos los sectores, ya que tendrá características diferentes dependiendo de la etapa del plan Paso a Paso en que esté la comuna de residencia de los mayores; de modo que en aquellas que estén en fase 1 y 2; es decir, en cuarentena y transición, podrán salir entre las 11.00 y las 12.00 los días lunes, jueves y sábado.

En cambio, los que viven en ciudades que ya estén en las etapas 3 y 4, o sea, preparación y apertura inicial, podrán hacerlo todos los días en dos horarios; el primero es de 11.00 a 12.00 y el segundo de 15.00 y 16.00 horas. En ambos casos no habrá impedimento para que los abuelos caminen acompañados solo en lugares abiertos, pero deben portar los elementos de seguridad y su carnet de identidad.

Para este anuncio estuvieron presentes Octavio Vergara, director nacional del Servicio Nacional del Adulto Mayor (Senama) y el Dr. Gerardo Fasce, presidente de la Sociedad Chilena de Geriatría, quienes agradecieron la medida y enfatizaron que este desconfinamiento tiene un sustento en aspectos de salud mental, física y funcionalidad.

Vergara reveló que “es una medida que alcanza un universo cercano a un millón de personas” por lo cual “es muy relevante”, de modo que hizo un “llamado a la responsabilidad y el autocuidado; a tener las precauciones establecidas por la autoridad sanitaria”.

Mientras tanto Fasce indicó que “los beneficio irán en el ámbito físico, ya que por consecuencia de esta pandemia hemos visto pérdida de masa muscular, pérdida de capacidad aeróbica y el poder salir nos permitirá recuperar eso” (…) “vemos con esto tremendos beneficios en controlar la depresión y manejar los trastornos de ansiedad”.

Por ser grupo de riesgo, en marzo el Gobierno decretó que los adultos mayores de 80 años debían cumplir cuarentena en todo el país para evitar contagiarse. Sin embargo, en mayo esa medida se extendió hasta los 75 años.

Durante el balance también informaron que se levantará el cordón sanitario en Coronel y Lota, de la Región del Biobío, a partir de este viernes a las 22:00 horas
