Admitió «momentos complejos»: Codelco informa una caída de su producción y explica las razones
Codelco reportó este viernes que en el período enero-septiembre de 2022 anotó excedentes por US$2.606 millones y un Ebitda de US$4.697 millones, con una producción de un millón 62 mil toneladas de cobre.
En relación al mismo período del año anterior, la cifra de producción representa una disminución de 10,4%.
La caída está asociada, principalmente, a una menor ley en la División Ministro Hales (por el cambio del plan de explotación, debido al derrumbe de una zona del rajo) y una menor recuperación de cobre, a lo que se suma, en Chuquicamata y El Teniente, “una menor ley de mineral, una reducción en la actividad y una caída en la recuperación de cobre en sus plantas concentradoras”.
Asimismo, dificultades en la operación, principalmente en la fundición y refinería de Chuquicamata, “han contribuido a mermar la producción, acumulando un mayor nivel de inventarios de productos en proceso”, dijo la estatal.
André Sougarret, presidente ejecutivo de Codelco, comentó que “los resultados muestran un momento complejo en términos de mercado, de operación y puesta en marcha de los primeros megaproyectos”.
