¡A la liguilla!: CDCopiapó venció de visita a Puerto Montt y asegura su participación en la lucha por el ascenso
CDCopiapó logró la ansiada clasificación a la Liguilla de Promoción de Primera B, tras vencer como visitantes a Puerto Montt en un llovido estadio Chinquihue. El conjunto copiapino supo aguantar el primer tiempo y, con un certero cabezazo de Isaac Díaz, se quedó con el triunfo por la cuenta mínima. Con esto, los Leones se ubican terceros en la tabla y lograron asegurar la participación en la lucha por el ascenso con una fecha aún por disputar en la temporada regular.
El director técnico Héctor Almandoz quedó conforme con el equipo que empató frente a Magallanes, por lo que en esta ocasión repitió la misma formación y nombres que salieron a la cancha la semana pasada en el Luis Valenzuela Hermosilla. Con un Wilson Piñones y Contreras que repitieron titularidad por segunda vez en el año, la defensa de CDCopiapó se vio más afianzada y organizada. La experiencia de ambos jugadores contribuyó a mantener la calma pese a lo disputado del encuentro.
La formación titular de los Leones en el estadio Chinquihue fue la siguiente: Richard Leyton en el arco; José Tiznado, Diego García, Juan José Contreras y Wilson Piñones repitiendo la línea defensiva; Marco Medel, Juan Jaime y Jorge Luna nuevamente juntos en el mediocampo; José Bandez, Sergio León y Maximiliano Quinteros conformaron el tridente ofensivo de CDCopiapó.
En una cancha húmeda por la lluvia, el partido comenzó con el dominio de los locales, quienes se mostraban más cómodos con las condiciones climáticas. Además, los delfines lograron el control del balón en el mediocampo y tuvieron algunas cargas ofensivas antes de la primera media hora de juego, sin embargo, ninguna con demasiado peligro.
Por su lado, CDCopiapó se dedicó a aguantar y analizar al rival, acciones que realizó de buena forma, ya que supo repeler las cargas de Puerto Montt. La ofensiva de los Leones no tuvo mayor protagonismo en la primera parte. Así, se fueron al descanso en un partido que, hasta ese momento, tenía poca intensidad.
En el complemento, los Leones salieron a la cancha con otra disposición y dieron vuelta los roles del primer tiempo, tal como en el partido contra Magallanes, logrando controlar el balón, pero sin tanto peligro en ofensiva. En ese momento, Almandoz decidió meter a Isaac Díaz por el joven Sergio León (con tarjeta amarilla), buscando mayores variantes en el ataque.
El cambio de piezas dio resultados de manera inmediata, ya que en la primera pelota que tocó Isaac Díaz, logró conectar de cabeza y marcar el 1-0 en favor de los Leones. Luego, vinieron varios cambios en ambos equipos, por lo que el partido se desdibujó y Puerto Montt intentaba empatar con más ganas que estrategia, pero el marcador no se movió más.
