AC/DC volvió a las pistas con nueva producción

La legendaria banda AC/DC puso fin a seis años de silencio discográfico con el lanzamiento de su nuevo álbum «POWER UP», una placa que no solo marca el regreso de varios integrantes clásicos, si no que además es sindicado por la crítica como uno de sus mejores trabajos.

«Es su mejor disco en 30 años y suena como siempre han sonado», destacó la revista Rolling Stone, mientras que Louder indicó que «si este fuese su disco de despedida, se habrán ido en uno de sus mejores momentos».

Grabado en el Warehouse Studio de Vancouver (Canadá), AC/DC contó como productor con el reconocido Brendan O’Brien, que ya había trabajado para ellos mismos en «Black Ice» (2008) y «Rock Or Bust» (2014).

El punto de partida no podía ser peor, por una serie de hechos que se desencadenaron tras la muerte en 2017 de Malcolm Young, afectado en sus últimos años de vida por un proceso de demencia que le obligó a retirarse del grupo tras la publicación de su último LP hasta la fecha.

En plena gira de ese álbum, el cantante Brian Johnson se vio obligado a abandonar también por problemas de audición (fue reemplazado en varias fechas por Axl Rose, de Guns N’ Roses, entre las críticas y el estupor de parte de los seguidores de la banda).

Por si fuese poco, Phil Rudd fue condenado por posesión de drogas y amenazas, que le llevaron a apartarse de la música, mientras que Cliff Williams también dijo adiós por los problemas que acarreaba la banda.

«POWER UP» marcó el retorno de  Johnson, Williams, Rudd e incluso de Malcolm Young que, si bien ya no se encuentra presente en cuerpo, todas las canciones del álbum fueron acreditadas a su autoría debido a que muchos de los riffs fueron escritos por él o inspirados en ideas suyas.

El nuevo disco de AC/DC contiene 12 tracks y ya se encuentra disponible en plataformas de streaming.
