Partido Progresistas van firmes por una Nueva Constitución y la convención Constitucional
llamada a pronunciarse a través de su voto, por las alternativas Apruebo o Rechazo a una nueva Constitución Política.

Uno de los partidos que componen el ajedrez político de la zona es Progresistas, que opta por una Nueva Constitución y la Convención Constitucional, según lo destacó su consejero federal, Guillermo Cortés.
Indicó que “estamos por el Apruebo a una nueva Constitución y lo hacemos mediante la institución de la convención constitucional. Decir, si que nosotros éramos partidarios de la Asamblea Constituyente, por dos razones, primero porque era la definición que prefería la ciudadanía y el pueblo movilizado desde el 18 de octubre y desde antes. Y el Progresismo desde las primeras incursiones electorales habíamos planteado la asamblea constituyente. La actual Constitución surgida en dictadura y en un contexto de represión y conculcación de todas las libertades y derechos ciudadanos, hecha bajo una única inspiración ideológica y política, por lo que de todas las constituciones chilenas, esta es la de menor validez democrática, ética, histórica y política”.
Precisa además el directivo que “la Constitución del 80, consagró un sistema injusto en lo social, y que dio paso al conjunto de privatizaciones que han empobrecido a Chile, y lo retrotrajo a un sistema extractivista básico, que en nada ha contribuido al desarrollo. Permitió en el marco de la legalidad y con la constitución como garante, la destrucción del sistema público de enseñanza, del incipiente sistema de salud, de los derechos colectivos de las y los trabajadores. Pulverizó el sistema de pensiones. Dando paso a lucros indebidos como en las AFP, Ispres, la educación superior, el saqueo de las empresas del estado.
La actual constitución en su momento permitió la exclusión, el exilio y la tortura, en síntesis esta constitución en nada ha ayudado y beneficiado a los sectores medios y populares de Chile. Pero si, ha permitido el enriquecimiento desmesurado y obsceno de un grupo de oligarcas. Como bien sabemos el 1% de nuestra población, es dueña de más del 40 % de la riqueza de Chile.
NUEVA CONSTITUCIÓN:
Ahondando en conceptos, el directivo de Progresistas señaló que “una nueva constitución mediante la convención constitucional, sin ser una herramienta mágica, nos va a permitir por primera vez una constitución en paridad, donde se podrá debatir de forma racional y con argumentos razonables que es lo que queremos y que necesitamos para un país más justo socialmente, más democrático económicamente y más equitativo políticamente. Podremos integrar a la vida republicana a los sectores de la ciencia, por supuesto la integración y autonomía a las regiones y provincias, integraremos a nuestra historia , al arte, el deporte, más derecho a los trabajadores , reconocimiento real a los pueblos originarios, integración y apoyo al mundo de la discapacidad, las minorías sexuales, y por supuesto el cuidado y resguardo del medio ambiente, con protección preferente de nuestra agua , ríos, glaciales, lagos y el mar de Chile
Guillermo Cortés finalmente fue enfático en indicar “si queremos un Chile moderno, justo y profundamente democrático, para todos y todos, el Apruebo es la opción viable, ya que una carta magna contemporánea nos permite mirar nuestro futuro, el de nuestra hijas e hijos y el de los que vendrán con la tranquilidad de que la nueva constitución es el arma democrática y ciudadana, que nos permitirá el desarrollo y la felicidad de la patria”
